96 Pages packed with photos of the odd, antique and unusual vehicles fielded by the Panzertruppen, many of them photographed at Pilsen Airfield in Czechoslovakie, plus the usual Tigers, Panthers and Panzer IVs. A great value for the money!

Panzerwrecks X German Armour 194445 Lee Archer William Auerbach 9780955594076 Books

Panzerwrecks 18 focuses upon destroyed German vehicles in Western Europe from 1944-45. These pictures have not been seen before as many came via U.S. servicemen. The large format also allows for great reproductions. The captions are some of the best in the business as well, as the authors do a huge amount of research into each photo.

That’s shown right from the start with a close up of a Jagdpanzer IV/70 and a Panzer IV from the 11th Panzer Division in a vehicle park in Germany. Then there’s a 12 photo series of Jagdpanthers. Other highlights are Tiger Is from sPz. Kp. Hummel and sPz. Abt 301, some Tiger IIs including one from sSSPz. Abt 101 that ended up at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland, 2 shots of Jagdtigers, an all steel rimmed road wheel Panther, some French tanks pressed into German service, and a series of very old Panzers that were pressed into service from training grounds at the end of the war. Of course, there’s also the usual mix of Panthers, halftracks, SPGs, etc

Every Panzerwrecks is a treat because of the unique photos and the information passed along. This is another great volume in the series.

Panzerwrecks X German Armour 194445 Lee Archer William Auerbach 9780955594076 Books Reviews

This is the twelth issue of a remarkable series. You keep wondering when our good fortune will end. I remember my excitement when the first volumes came out and now we are at Volume 12. I have all of the volumes and I don't know which is my favorite. All armor enthusiasts and modellers owe Lee Archer and Bill Auerbach a debt of gratitude for their marvelous efforts. These books represent some of the best values in the field. There some marvelous photos of Jagdtigers and even a couple of Jagdpanthers. A lovely selection of King Tigers, Panthers and other misc. tanks. One of the great surprises is the high resolution quality of many of the photos. It shows what could be accomplished with a large format camera in the hands of a trained photographer. I hope we can look forward to another 12 volumes.
Unusual and in it's own way a consistent collection of panzer wrecks.

A-must-have for modelers and WWII enthusiasts alike.
Absolutely love this series. Great for enthusiasts and modelers.
Super interesting subject that has almost nothing previously printed. I hope there will more titles in the future. The pictures are extremely interesting and even more rare. Pictures needed for us nerd modelers.
Random wrecks this outing from Pz. Is to Tigers to 1/2 tracks & about everything in between..
Jagdtiger pics I've never seen, a series from a veteran of #113 Tiger II KOd near Mons Sept. '44 ( I see that this soldier just recently passed on), some early panzers still in use at the end of the war, the usual panthers & stugs, some beute conversions, a color shot of the "octopus" Tiger, & a series on Panzer IV/70(V) in & out. It's printed well on good paper & is up to usual PW standards. Hard to believe this one went out of print so quickly.
