Frommer’s Scotland features gorgeous color photos of the quaint villages, misty moors, and offshore islands that await you. It’s a highly personal guide that’s fun to read and even more fun to use on the road—and it’s much more complete and in-depth than its major competitors.

I've been to Scotland 8 times (my relatives live there) and I think the author and I have differing opinions on what towns are really worth seeing. On our most recent trip a couple months ago we used this guide to travel through southern Scotland, an area we hadn't been to before. We found a few of the towns recommended to not be worth the drive there. Also, it seems that the book was not really updated. One wonderful restaurant in Oban was not listed (Seafood Temple) even though it was the most popular and famous restaurant and one restaurant we tried to go to in Elgin had apparently been closed for about 3 years.Product details

Wonderful book. Gives all of the information that you could ever need while visiting Scotland. I know where to sleep, where to eat, where to drink, what sites to see, and everything in between now. Thank you!
Good condition. Very pleased..
As good as this guide is, it still leaves me with unanswered questions. We are traveling by rail, and this and the other guides assume that all travel by car. I need to know, as I would find out from Rick, where the train station is in relation to the accommodations.
This book helped us trememdously on our recent trip to Scotland. We found a lot of places to visit by reading it.
This was a great resource for researching Scotland for a College project. Everything you need to know about Scotland - what's required to get there, where to go and what to do to stay safe and have a great time, local customs, a taste of the foods and drinks, a short lesson in the language, as-well-as a wee bit of history.
I bought only one general guide. This is an updated one that I found quite handy. A good basic for a traveler not familiar with Scotland. I have several other specialized guides, and I like the old Blue Guide series. But they are all about 10 years old.
For my first trip to Paris, I bought this guide and one other. This one was by far the best. I particulary benefited from the section on walking tours. The small maps inside the book depicting portions of the city were not too helpful because they didn't name a lot of the streets. However, the book came with a very good, full map of the central city, in a pull out section at the back.
